We have recently been duped into travelling to China to sign a contract for video production with this Chinese company: Henan Wanhua Investment Co., Ltd., which holds an official registration in China and a capitalization of 300,000 US$.
Once in China we were asked to buy gold bars for the CEO and pay for notarization of the contract, which we refused. We have since heard from many other companies in Europe, who have also been invited and some of which have paid for gold bars and notarization fees.
Please pass this on to other video production companies, so they can avoid wasting their time and money.

Hello, I received the same project in Italy proposed from Henan Wanhua Investment Co., Ltd. Managing Director, Zheng Xinhong and Project Manager Yang Mingqing from District Culture Road #60
Jinshui Zhengzhou
China phone numbers:Managing Director, Yang Mingqing : 0086-371-567 38353
Manager:
Zheng Xinhong: 0086 136 4382 3177. Exactly the same story with the acception that we were shooting in Italy. Everything went well until they requested me to travel to China for signing the contract. I was willing to go until they requested to have me travel on a tourist visa to sign contracts and documents. I contacted the US embassy in China as I am a US citizen and made some enquiries only to find out it was completely illegal the request from the 'client'. I was advised to contact the Chinese embassy here in Italy and they did indeed direct me to another channel of business registrations where I find out the company was a fraud. Unfortunately, like you, I was already confirming contracts with my team from the USA and Italy, writing the storyboards, castings for voice overs, organized press releases in every region, contacted all the film commissions, etc.....booked out the year of my time, turned down other projects during the negotiations and also when we were assured all the contracts were accepted.
I too would have been on a plane but after I made the phone calls and found out the scam, I was called by other production companies here in Italy to find out the same from them.
Sorry for your loss of time and I am happy you have posted because I too had trouble to find concrete info on the company. Now in a google search, your experience came right up!
Thanks,
Lynette Arlene

Dear Lynette, thank you for posting about your experience. Unfortunately the Chinese embassy in Munich did not direct us towards a list of scam companies, also that company is in fact properly registered in China, according to the Austrian office for business affairs. The interesting bit is that we are still in touch with them and apparently a representative is coming to Europe in August, so we will invite the press here in Germany when he arrives and catch him on video.
Klaas van der Meulen (Wednesday, 01 August 2012 07:37)
We had unfortunately the same experience with this company. We bought some gold for the CEO but for a lower price as you had to do, and we transferred the money as well. Stupid as I see it now. But as you said aswell It looked rather good in the beginning. My e mail is [email protected] I will try to get them arrested to contact the ambassy and whatever I can organize. best regards. Klaas
filmingholidays (Wednesday, 01 August 2012 07:43)
Dear Klaas, thanks for sharing. Just a quick correction, as I mentioned in the video we did not purchase the gold for the CEO. Let me know how you go with the embassy. Though from what I understand they have been operating in China for some time and have taken money from people in China as well, but they are still operating legally. Cheers Tom

Dear Ily, we are hearing from more and more people across Europe that have become victims. There are just as many people that have contacted us on our German website. They really need to be stopped. I am still in touch and have said that I will meet the executive director here in Germany, if that happens, then we will have the press and police there.

We just We have just been invited to the meeting in China
The same happened with our company in Brazil, we send our ideas and budgets for the production of the episodes, actually looked pretty good deal to be true.
But the brazilian citizens need a visa to go to China, and for this, we asked for a letter of invitation to show in the China Consulate in Sao Paulo.
Also suspected at first, but with the invitation to go to china for sign the contracts, I started researching more and found the post via face book.

We're production company in Thailand which is got this mail too, every single detail is the same. As you're said too good to be true!
I'm starting to quotation this morning but feel something in mind. Then I search the company name from the internet then to be here finally.
Thank you so much again Lynette and everyone for your share.

Thanks for posting this. We're based in Northern California and got the same email...with a quick google search, your blog just saved me a lot of headache.
Joe T (Friday, 07 September 2012 11:48)
Thanks for posting. I'm in Calgary Alberta Canada and just got this last week. I responded and got the info letter spelling out their requirements and asking for episode outlines and budget quotes.
I responded again to that asking for more information about them. At the same time I passed the information along to our government representative in Hong Kong to check out for validity. THEN I did my second google search on just the phone number and got this page. I wish my google search last week had produced results but I got nothing - I had of course, used the company name and address.
Too bad. This looked like it could have been a really good project. We could have used the work here.
Again, thank you for this blog. You've saved me a lot of headaches. I am going to see if my government guy can assist in shutting them down.

Thanks for the post. I'm in Denver, CO and just got the same e-mail from "Mr. Dehua" less than a week ago. I put together a proposal, sent it to him yesterday and immediately got an e-mail from him this morning to write up a contract. I haven't responded to his latest e-mail yet because I wanted to do some due diligence first. It was sounding way to good ... and too quick ... to be true. I really appreciate all of your posts. Like others, your stories saved me a bunch of time and money. As part of my due diligence I contacted my state international biz office for guidance. I'll definitely be sending a link to this posting to them.

I had a thought of telling them that due to the scope and complexity of the project, the legal fees for creating a contract would be something like $7,500. To show our "good faith" we would be willing to cover half of that as an up front investment in the project. As soon as they reciprocate with the other half, we'll get started on the contract. I'm sure that would stop all communication. However, after telling a friend of mine with the state attorney general's office about this, he said they would report and investigate it, and advised that I should simply stop all communication with them.
Lynette Arlene (Sunday, 23 September 2012 03:39)
WOW! After my post in July in response to this scam I can't believe how many people have come out of the wood work! I also posted in July on all my facebook pages about the chinese film production scam. I have also received many letters from colleagues around the world sharing their experience. I am really happy to see that everyone has come forward to expose this fraud but we should truly be able to make some sort of class action suit against them for the time that they have wasted of ours, (I know I spent months on negotiations, story boards and even turned down other projects that we had committed to one year of filming for this project) NOT to mention the mal intent of their scam.
Did they ever arrive in Germany? I know that they stopped all communications with me when I invited them to Italy.
Everyone should send their emails and info to your local Chinese Embassy Business Department as I was advised to do in Italy. THis will also hopefully protect future victims who are receiving the business visa to travel to China for this scam.
Thanks again for your initiative 'filming holidays'.

Samantha (Sunday, 23 September 2012 10:05)
Yep, I got the same email here in the UK a few days ago. Details are slightly different though (I've posted it below).
My first thought was 'scam', but it included a quite convincing technical brief as an attachment, and I thought 'Well, if it is a scam, it's a pretty sophisticated one, they've gone to a lot of trouble, maybe it is genuine.'
So I asked some pertinent questions, and got what looked like reasonable replies. However, on reflection, they were a bit generic. Also, when someone agrees almost instantly to a 50% payment up front for a $2.5m project, it's got to be too good to be true! And now I come to think of it, why would a company that makes machine tools be commissioning videos? Then I found this thread on a Google search.
Haven't wssted more than a few minutes on it thankfully. Well done you guys for highlighting it, many thanks!

Thanks again for all your entries. @Lynette sorry for not replying earlier we were actually travelling and filming in Italy and Croatia. To answer your question they never arrived in Germany of course, and after some consultation it appears that we do not really have a case, since they did not outright ask for money, so the best option really would be to keep exposing their scams and if someone can come up with a good idea to scam them back. It would really be quite simple such as keep writing to them and pretending to fall for the scam and several people saying they will arrive at the airport and later saying the flight has ben delayed a day and getting them to waste their time standing around waiting for people to appear that will never arrive. If they will no longer pick up people from the airport we just pretend to be at some Hotel and keep them waiting in the lobby, if we can get 20 or more people people to do this, eventually they will get fed up with their own scam!

The beginning of October we got a request from Hainan Kaimao Imp&Exp Trading Co.,Ltd from a site europages about pricing. After a week, came an order for about five million euros! We responded presenting production stages of order that far exceeded our production capabilities. We proposed terms of payment and delivery spread over about 4 months. After a week we got confirmation of the offer, a few questions and asked to sign a contract (still no mention of a visit to China). All previous correspondence does not arouse suspicion gross but we try to stay safe. What steps we should to keep preserve safety. The further progress we will inform.

What a cunning scam, I kept thinking it sounded too good to be true and as is usual when you think that....you're right! The thing that bugged me was that the brief was so detailed and must of been written by someone who knew the business, and it was kind of plausible, but then I kept thinking why would a manufacturing company be doing video of this sort - they never answer those questions nor ones asking for collateral re their company. Fortunately only lost a bit of time on the proposal, but was considering the offer seriously.... thanks for the post, my goodness there are some devious minds out there! If there's a way to stop them let's do it...
filmingholidays (Friday, 19 October 2012 06:44)
A cunning scam indeed, even friends in China had never heard of this kind of scam. My suggestions would be that all of you, who have been contacted scam them back by simply pretending to fall for it and get them to waste their time. Make demands for more details on the order. Ask them to send a letter of invitation for the consulate. Tell them that you will arrive in china and get them to wait around at the airport. If enough people do this, soon they will not know who is genuinely falling for the scam and who is is scamming them back and they might get fed up with their own scam.

Saad(Algerie) (Saturday, 03 November 2012 06:00)
Dommage.
Merci à vous tous.
Marlies (Saturday, 03 November 2012 07:24)
I am grateful for the comments about this company. We just got an inquiry for wine from Mr. Jack Zhao under a company name HnKm, which seems a short form of Hainan Kalmao (which is mentioned above by Scharo from Germany). They are are now contacting a number of German wineries and took the addresses from Europages.
Thanks to all and best regards
Marlies

Our company - and we are from Poland - also received the e-mail from Mr. Jack Zhao, totally scam, we received similar e-mails before, it is like never ending story with 'them'.
And like Marlies wrote - they got our address by Europages.

Since there is no Endik Kuswantoro working for my company I decided to check a little bit more about this potential importer. And that's how I found this website.
Thank you to all for saving us a lot of time related to sending e-mails to crooks!
Tracey (Monday, 19 November 2012 23:51)
We have been dealing with this so called company for about a month now via email, they want us to supply them $10mil worth of pallets and will pay us 40% deposit, they sent us a contract and we had our lawyer redraw it, they have agreed and invited us to visit, we declined and invited them to visit our premises in Australia, they declined saying the CEO is very busy at this time of the year.
When then asked them to sign the contract pay the deposit and we would commence with production of the products.
Corrospondence received back:
Since this is our first cooperation, we must notarize the contract in order to ensure the safety of our payment. The details about notary are as follows:
Before our general manger signs and stamps the contract, there is a question needed to be stated to you:
After our both sides signing the contract, the contract should be taken to the notarial office of Chinese government. The notary is beneficial for our both sides. Since this is our first cooperation and we are in different countries, in case of any divergence but we don't have the ability to handle this problem, our governement will help us make the conciliation.
The most important point for notary is that our government will supervise us to pay all the payment in the stipulated time.
We have consulted the notarial office, they will charge the 0.02% of contract value=2038.85 USD for the notary of the contract. Our both sides should pay half of the notarial fee, that is 1019.43 USD.
Since you can't come to our company, you can authorize us to handle the notary thing.
If there is no question about this issue, we will send you a letter of authorization for your signature. Then you send the notarial fee to us, we will get the contract notarized as soon as possible so that we can begin our cooperaton eariler.
We then requested that the fee be taken out of the deposit funds.
Response:
The notary is based on the terms in contract, including the contract value and the terms of payment. We have to go to the administration of foreign exchange ,based on the contract value, to apply for foreign currency exchange. The administration approve the exchange according to the contract value and terms of payment that are notaried. The contract value is fixed ,so the fee of notary cannot be deducted from the contract value. I think i have made myself clear.
The fee of notary is not much, but it's a way to show sincerity,so we should share half and half. After receiving, we will go to the notary office to deal with formalities and transfer the advanced payment to your bank account.
Thought I might contact a notary office in Australia and see what they say.
Any advise?

Furthermore, they agree the payment before collection, 50% now and 50% before the delivey.
If it was serious, it was fantastic for us!!! But not.
Like you, they want to sign with us a contract.
We lost enough time with them.
One question: we have to email them to say we know them swindel?

Hello, I am having the same experience in Spain and I am glad to have found this web.
I have received a wine order of around 1 million Eur and they have not tasted the wines !!
At first it was strange but they agreed to pay 30 % in advance so I kept on with the conversation. Now they are insisting that I have come to China to sign the contract before the shipment. I did not like this.
I will tell them a date and time of my arrival to China (of course I will not go..)

Hello,
same experience for us, but a bit late. I got an enquiry from "Hainan Kaimao Imp&Exp Trading Co. Ltd." for manufacture stainless steel products.
I checked this company by my credit insurance and got a positive feedback of max. 50.000 € limit. After this check I felled comfortable and we start communication with Hainan Kaimao Imp&Exp Trading Co. Ltd., figured out terms and conditions first during the last weeks, worked with the lawer, with the bank and credit insurance company and went to China afterwards.
Mr.Zhao HuiHuang came personally with a lady as a translator picked me up from the airport with1 hour delay after I called them up that I am arrived.
Then I start wonder me a bit, because usually you invite guest for dinner and make their stay a bit comfortable; guide them around in the city or something like this, especially if you want to talk about a 3 M EUR deal. But in my case, nothing like this. We went to the office (luxury furniture of general manager), get a quick introduction of the general manager themselves and talked again about terms and condition. Suddenly they explained that we have to do a security deposit of 20.000$ for possible claims which should be paid in advance. As well they wanted to charge us 50% of notary cost about we never talked before and I did not expect.
I recommend deducting the amount from the down-payment but they don’t want
I recommend providing me an irrevocable L/C but they don’t want
I offered them discount but they don’t want
They keep sticking on getting cash payment or online transfer. We postponed the meeting to the next day and I checked again with my credit insurance and the chamber of commerce in Shanghai as well the internet and found this blog (sadly to say that a bit to late)
I stopped the discussion and wrote a letter to the Chinese chamber of commerce to try to stop the scam business.

I only invest in my flight ticket for a long weekend, so doesn’t matter. I am happy to figure it out before losing much more money.
The positive point is that Haikou is a nice place and I enjoy the stay by 20°C in December 2012 in a 5star hotel instead of being in Germany by 30cm snow and -10°C.
It is a little comfort. No risk no fun

Hi Everyone,
I just got back from China, Haikou. I met with the same guy pictured shaking your hand in the video. He was playing the role of the manager in my scenario, not the ceo.
his info:
Mr. ZHAO Huihuang Project Manager
Hainan Kaimao Imp&Exp Trading Co., Ltd.
Shimao Center, No.69 Bania RD. Longhua District, Haikou, Hainan, China
Email: [email protected]
www.hainankaimao.com
They contacted us with the exact same story - a little over one million dollars to produce 30x 20 minute videos. I happen to be going to Guangzhou on business so I said I would meet with them. They initially seemed very legit, the spec sheet was disorganized but had a lot of real info about the type of video they need and even addressed rights for selling in other countries, etc. They never mentioned any kind of money transfer until the second day of meetings at their office. There they said that 1) there is an underwriting fee from the gov't for .08% and I should pay half and that 2) they need a "quality assurance" deposit - they explained that this is $24,000 and that they will pay half of it, and that is it required since we have not done business together before. IN addition, they said that they will have me send it to their accountant who will hold it in an escrow account, so that they don't pay taxes on it and they will return it at the completion of the contract.
Obviously, at this point I figured there is a problem. I told them I would check with my attorney in the U.S. and get back to them.
I must say this is a pretty elaborate scam - I walked through their offices and saw about 30 people siting in cubicles ( evidently emailing the world!) I also met with their "CEO" who seemed legit and very interested in getting this project going. They picked me up from the airport with a driver, they met with me on day 1 for about 4 hours and on day 2 for about 3 hours. They bought me lunch after the contract signing, and kept talking about future "cooperation" with our companies.
Its a bit unsettling to know that they were lying to me the whole time, I'm not sure if Lynn the assistant/interpreter was in on it as well, she is only 23 and came off as pretty naive.
Either way - stay away from these people. they are not only hitting production companies but all kinds of industries, promising big contracts and hoping to lure you in.
Thank you FILMING HOLIDAYS for posting this!
filmingholidays (Saturday, 08 December 2012 07:13)
Hi Thank you for posting everyone!
@Paul E. I agree it is a pretty elaborate scam and yes Lynn, the translator, is definitely in on it, she was already pushing me to withdraw money when I was there. She is meant to appear naive, it is all part of the psychology of the scam. The fact that they are getting bigger, they only had a very small shabby office when I was there, is a worrying sign, so apparently quite a few people are falling for it.
Marry (Monday, 10 December 2012 01:57)
I knew all the stories would happen. So I left this company before meeting the first "client". When I inquired the Quotation I found the order was pretty huge, and we had so many projects going on at the same time. As I understood even if it's a state-owned company it won't have this ability to run so many projects, with each of them over a million USD or so. Plus our salary was poorly tiny. It obviously was a sign to say they were not doing normal business.
Secondly, when I tried to bargen with the "suppliers", the manager didn't even listen to me. So he agreed the quotation without knowing the price. Again, so many projects running at the same time and each of them shall invest a huge money, but the manager doesn't even care about the price. It was very weird to me.
Thirdly I kept receiving this link from our "suppliers" (or "clients"), and the CEO even told us at meeting that do not believe the rummors. Well as I believe rummors come for a reason and I am curious.
Fourthly, I found they NEVER ever contacr any Chinese clients who will invest for those huge projects or receive the products. As I wondered before, we were investing too much in too many projects, but no Chinese clients. It appears quite interesting, doesn't it?
fifthly, they called the "suppliers" "Clients", which was weird for a professional international traders, as they declaired they had been doing this business over decades. Hmmm, quite experienced.
Also many craps they did and they told me showed their business was "inquire-accept-contract-invite-charge fees with whatever reasons-disappear".
But so far I never heard anybody would fall for their crappy scams. Well I would probably stay if they did the scams professionally.
I think some of the girls are innocent, as many of them had NO COMMON SENSE, which is sad for Chinese education and Graduates. They believe what the boss says. I have to confess that I used to be same as them and worked hard for bullshit.
My advice is if you are not too busy, you can exchange emails with them for fun.
Tom (Monday, 10 December 2012 13:36)
We are a Polish company nor related to film prudoctions, and we have recived and e-mail from a company named Hainan Kaimao. First we susspected a scam, but then we were convinced by the amount of technical data. The company has send us an early version of contract, and my suspicion rose again because it was written in poor english. But it still seemed legit. We were about to book a flight to China, and we were looking for the hotel when I found this page. You saved us a lot of time and money. You should hear me swering when i was comparing the seals on the contracts (diffrent company names, same seal). Thank you very much for posting this vid.

Here's one of five emails I received. They sent them in response to my craigslist ads for hydraulic equipment for sale. I received attachments of contracts documents in the emails but I have not opened the attachments for fear of an obvious scam.
Not sure how any of you have fallen for any of these scams since you all sound like successful business people...that worries me.

The same in Spain, Zaragoza's Area. We received an order for more than 600,000 EUR.
Thank you guys!
Greetings from Spain,
Francisco.
Jane/Italy (Friday, 14 December 2012 07:54)
We received a request to supply 558,400 Eur of wine from Mr. Jack Zhao Project Manager of "HAINAN KALMAO TRADING IMP&EXP LTD" and the correspondence was so real that seemed to be a serious matter...they also sent to us a contract that "would have taken effect after signature by both legal representative parties" and "after notification by chinese government Notary"...of course we refused this clause and pretended the advance payment of 40% at signature of contract and the remaining 60% by T/T transfer before shipment of goods...they accepted our modification to the contract but was necessary the signature "face to face". So we flought to Hainan with a chinese translator and "Mr. Zhao" came to the airport to pick up us. The car inside was really in bad conditions, he carried our luggages and left us at the hotel giving us an appointmment for the day after at 9,00, so no hospitality, bad car, we alone in Haikou...all these thing sounded so strange! In the hotel we started having some suspects so phoned our family in Italy and they checked and discovered by reading FILMING HOLIDAYS posts that we were falling in to a fraude!!! Next day Mr. "Fuck Zhao" came to the hotel at 9.00 to continuing his fraude by picking us and bringing to his company...well we said no signature of contracts, if you want our wines transfer 40% to our bank account and then we can talk about this matter again! He asked me if we had already signed the Pro-forma Invoice (fortunately not yet) we sent them one week before...I repeated that we would have sign anything and asked him to take him a picture but he was in a hurry and had to go away...and run away. This is the end of our "adventure" as already booked for the day after a flight to Kunming to meet only for a courtesy visit "MR. GUANGAO HU" of "KUNMING XINTAI TRADING" who contacted us for an order of 1.168.000 EUR of wine... of course we canceled flight, visit and all dreams...too good to be true. At the end I can say that fortunately we did'nt fall in the scam, only the money for the trip to Haikou as we had anyway to flight to Guangzhou to meet really serious chinese people. But some people must be arrested... Jane/Italy the fact happened on 12 December 2012.

Hi Everyone,
These crooks seem to be getting bigger - another friend with a production company in NY was just contacted by them. PLEASE DO NOT TELL THEM that we are on to them, they are currently using the same business name, so we will be able to save more people from having their time wasted. Once, they realize that the name is tarnished they will change it and be able to hide a little better. So please don't email them with any indication that there is a post about them, just stop any communication. Thanks.

The main problem is the scam company changes name frequently.
This one from Shanghai SHANGHAI YIYING INDUSTRIAL CO.,LTD is scam too, but I am pretty sure from May 2012 they already changed name and telephone.
But probably not the address:
NR. 251 CAO XI ROAD – XUHUI DISTRICT - SHANGHAI
Zipcode: 200233

Be careful when they ask you to pay a dinner to celebrate a contract! You will have a HIGH BILL to pay (and they will get commission from the restaurant). Or when they want you to buy a present for the boss or as I read above, gold.
I have serious Chinese customers, no one let me pay the bill in restaurant in China when they invite me, all of them always buy me a present the first time we meet.

This was thier reply to my $120,000 to $350,000 price. - I mean why would you want an ENGLISH narration for something being shown in China. And everything is available in stockphotography videos and the info is avail on the internet, that was a red flag and the quick reply and agreement to the whole thing. They really prey on what you do for a living so you take big bite.
--------------

Thanks to those who post here and inform others. We just got an email inviting us to bid on "an advertising vidio about your country, totally 15 sets and 30 minutes per set". I really thought it was a scam.. some details (but not enough) .. A huge project without any mention of venue... eagerness to pay. Sure wish the REAL gigs were like that. :) Point is.. if it seems too goo to be true..well..IT IS! Don't even BOTHER to answer these emails.

Same with us, some company Xi an demanded prices for ceiling tiles and made an order for 1 000 000 euros after only 1 price request and some mail exchange, we were all pretty busy and when I saw that order coming in it made me first dizzling, I did have some huge deals in China before, but this was a lot easier than usual. Nevertheless our director negociated and they wanted to see him asap to finalize the deal and arrange the papers. Flights were booked as we had some other regular Chinese customers asking us to Come over at the same time, Luckily I checked with our Flemish export office and they warned us about those scams and their trics, the next email received from them exactly was what the export office predicted a guarantee of 1% of the contract to insure transport and quality. We directly stopped all communication and have now some more time to visit our real Chinese clients. Be very carefull, it looks very professional and they almost tricked 3 very experienced export directors, thx all for posting your experiences and warning everybody

Not sure about any of you - but a reply like that with that sort of budget is pretty rare in our industry, so the response confirmed my suspicions.
I would like to thank all of you who have added to the page here outlining the various scams. It is always good to be alerted to potential pitfalls and dismiss them prior to being burnt.
Take care all.

Hi Silvana (everyone!),
thank you for your comment You asked how we can punish those people and here is my suggestion: keep writing to them and even pretend to have booked a flight to China and give them a date and time when you will arrive and that you wish to be collected from the airport and so on. Just keep playing their game and keep wasting their time until they don't know who will turn up and who will not, who falls for their scam and who doesn't. Essentially they should fall victim to their own strategy, so that they will not know anymore who and what to believe. Tom

These people are sick bastards. Don't believe them. I was asked to deliver 100 containers of lemon juice per month for three years!!!! I made a big laugh out of it. There isn't probably enough raw material in all Europe to make this much product.
If you don't know the company you are dealing with, ask for references regarding other suppliers in your country or continent they work with and contact them. If they do not give you anything drop them. Do not go to China right away it's just a waste of time and money.

Dear all friends,
I am going to talk about how we were close to being a victim of a Shaanxi Xian yalong IMP & EXP Trading Co. LTD Scammer in China.
We put some advertisement on Alibaba and some fraud company named :
Shaanxi Xi'an YALONG IMP & EXP TRADING CO., LTD
They called us to purchase bitumen from us.
IT was amazing that they accepted to pay 100% TT in advance before shipment. My boss went to China and to their office location. They did not even invite my boss to lunch during lunch time. They had 10 employees and everything was good. Later in the hotel meeting, they asked my boss to pay 8000USD in advance so that it would be for guarantee of the delivery. They said this is for lab analysis of the bitumen in China. We said we will provide full SGS certificate and we did not pay and our boss left the city.
Now that I heard from your website that there are some companies with similar names as "Shaanxi .......IMP & EXP TRADING CO., LTD", I am sure they are fraud.
I am telling you about scammers here. Don't travel to China for signing the contract. They Rip you and your money.
Real Chinese buyers issue LC's, they don't accept to pay in advance.
So the Scammer fraud company name and details are as follows:
Mr. Huang gang

Watch out with this company that has same modus of china export/import scam. www.hkadonix.com Address: The No3 build, reservoir road, baimei hill, huangpuVillage, shajing town,Baoan District, Shenzhen_en Tel:00852-69388212 Fax:00852-30121311 their website just 18 days old..they try to order motor oil from for USD 704.000 without even test our product..they invite us to sign contract in shenzhen china..we refuse that..cause it not come into our common sense. When we ask them to come to our factory they refuse and told us this is chinese style to do business based on trust and respect (yeah right you fucking scammer)..my advice check their website with www.scamadviser.com
It , will give you analysis with the scam website like this:
Registered contact email address is a free one
Technical contact email address is a free one
Administrative contact email address is a free one
This website is 18 Days old
The website expected life (366 days) is relatively short.
The website appears to be less than six months old
This website setup involves countries known to be high risk
This website is likely to be operating from a high risk country
see how old their website, if less than 1 years just avoid them and if they use free email account also stay away from them..that's the simple indicator for scam company that wants to do scam order for hundreds of dollar..
Hope this will help you to avoid the export/import china scammer

We were contacted by a Chinese Company Hkadonix to produce Silicone Cushion parts. Volume was to be 15,000,000 pieces per year. We negociated a price and were invited to come to China where we were to sign contracts. We made the trip and found out at lunch, we were required to pay all expenses for lunch plus gifts for the CEO & other employees. Total lunch $3900.us Afterwards they also wanted $2000 for notary fees, which we refused. Furtunately, we paid the luncheon by credit card, which we promptly cancelled and disputed the charge. The money was credited to our CC. The trip to Hong Kong was expensive but very enlightening. If it is too good to be true, its too good to be true. Lesson Learned.

Hi, this fraud come in Macedonia
They order 4000 live lambs just to change their mind for 2500 live lambs in next mail even before I notice the first mail.
On the beginning they wanted lambs to be old between 9-11 mounts and when I told them that now is lambing season and that they need to wait 7-9 mounts for lambs to grow they insist to have the lambs now (which is not possible because they are still sucking milk from the ewes)
I give them a proximate price which was a bit higher because I expect to haggle a bit with them (usually I haggle with Chines when I order something from China)
Also, they were not interested in performance of the breed even if they stated that lambs are for farming.
When I ask about what health certificate lambs need they send me some document for importing frozen fish.
When I ask about gender ratio they answer that they need 50-50 male/female.
They didn't have any concern about the transport live lambs from Macedonia to China.
They wanted we to send the lambs to them even without somebody from their side to see the animals before they pay everything. Because I was afraid that they can make some scam when the lambs will arrive there and that they will ask for some compensation or something similar I insist that they need to send person in trust to exam the animals and to approve the shipment .
In other words they didn't ask any usual/basic questions which are normal farmer will ask having in mind that the total price with transport and other things was around 0.5 mil.Euro.
They even send me a contract for singing
All these make me suspicious and I Google them and find this information.
I wanted to test them end told them in order to export live animals we need to reactive a permit for exporting live animals from our National Agency for food and veterinary and for that we need to sing the contract in presence of authority from Macedonian National Agency for food and veterinary ans since they need to see the animals before we sing the contract this will not be a problem and in case if they can't come they can authorize their embassy to sing for them.
After this mail they didn't answer again.
I still sending them mails with some info about the process like I don't know about the scam.
Anyone have a idea how we to scam them back?

Me:
Hi,
Thank you for your reply
You need to know that sheep are indigenous type. They are selected by farmers thru the centuries. They are not selected by scientist.
Also, if we make agreement first group will be ready for sending 9 mounts from now (now is lambing season).
So, what I need to do next
He:
Wei Wang
Jan 13
to me
Dear Sir,
Thanks for your reply.
Now that now is lambing season, why not supply us lambs?
Me:
Jan 13
to Wei
Hi
You told me that you need lambs old between 9-11 months
Also, they are sucklings now, they need their mother's milk
I don't think they will be strong enough for the trip before they are minimum 3 mounts old becouse of the traditional way of growing the lambs (sucking mother's milk). They will not be capable to survive only by dry food during the trip.
He:
Wei Wang
Jan 14
to me
Ok,how long will we wait until the lambs grow to be 3 months?
Me:
Jan 14
to Wei
Probably until the end of April or beginning of May
In mean time we can make contract and the terms of payment will be discussed
I don't think that people will give permit for lambs to leave the country before you pay everything
They are very suspicious to everybody, couple of time they were tricked
He:
Wei Wang
Jan 14
to me
Dear Sir,
We understand you.
Pls set your mind at rest.We won't cheat.
Here pls find the contract.
We can wait until April to May.Once we reach an agreement on the contract face to face,we will pay you 30% earnest money. Then we will come to your counter to inspect the goods, the remaining 70% will be paid off after the delievering.
Me:
Jan 14
to Wei
Please, don't understand this personal
People are afraid
May be you can send your person of trust to monitor and inspect the animals before they are put in containers to be send to China, so if he approve then you pay the remaining 70% before the lambs live the country.
Is this OK?
He:
Wei Wang
Jan 15
to me
Dear Sir,
Thanks for your reply.
Concerning the people's anxiousity,we will pay 30% earnest money once we sign the contract face to face. before the animals are put in containers to be sent to China,we will send our person of trust to monitor and inspect the animals. At that time,we will pay the remaining 70% and send our goods to China.
You can consult your people whether they will agree us.
Anyway we want to build long term business relation with you.
Looking forward to your early reply.

Hi,
I find some info about the export
We need to provide certificate for movement and certificate for transit for Albania, since only option is to use is port from Albania.
But you need to send all document which you will need for importing since the document which you send to me is not accepted like reference in our veterinarian agency
Or if this is complicate for you then maybe we can ask our agency to contact your embassy in Macedonia in official way since our law obligate us for verification of each shipment whit list of documents we need and to check the reliability of importing company in their embassy in order to receive permit for exporting live animals.
After we finish this you need to come so sign the contract with us and with veterinarian agency, if you can't come you need to send document with which you authorize your ambassador to sing for you with us and with veterinarian agency.
The expenditures for this procedure we will sheer and our part will be taken out from first 30 %.
I'm waiting your answer
All best

In fact you can try to consult some organization in China for the related information. And some foreign companies try to set their own office in China or employ one person as their representative in China.
And I have worked 7 years as a representative of a foreign company in China. My main work is to conact the related suppliers in China and avoid being scamed:)

Hi everyone,
here is how to get back at them. Keep writing and wasting their time. Say you will come to China and make them come to the airport. Say you missed your flight and make them come again the next day. Keep telling them that you are interested and demand more information from them. Basically do the same they are trying to do to businesses around the world. Good luck.

Dear Zhao Pu Chu,
I am afraid i am not going to be able to send you any contract. I have checked your company details and found out that many people complain about your company to be a scam company, cheating people. I had some doubts already, but now it is confirmed.
I just regret i didn't check your details before, that could have saved me 3 days of work, since this is the time it took me to work on your request.
I want to ask you a question: What is the point of doing such things? Are you paid to do this or is it your hobby? Can't you find any more meaningful work than disturbing people working hard to make a living?
I wasted 3 days working on your request, these are 3 days lost for my students, for my company, 3 days during which i could have finished some urgent work that i put apart to take care of your request in priority.
This is how we learnt, thanks for the lesson,
I am not expecting any answer to this email, but please, reflect on the meaning of your work. What positive contribution are you bringing to our World? If you believe in any God, how do you justify to God the work you are doing?
Best greetings from Batticaloa

Seriously, "Dear:"? You could've addressed my company name at least. Copy pasting must have been tiring too what with the list they probably had to go through in Business Listings.
Thank you for this website. I think this serves as a powerful deterrent and I hope people find it first before making deals in China.

Hi there friends...I am Lucky after I found this blog. From Bulgaria.
Last week found advertisement in Bulgarian Export Government site http://export.government.bg/ianmsp/Search-business , that Chinese company looking for a company that produce a wood chairs. I have 2 industrial units for massive wood furniture. An after e week of emailing...we agree to price, and quantity.8000 chairs for 18 euro.
It`s too good and easy to be truth. Again they invited me to China to sign the contract to cooperative work with them, offer 40% T/T and 60% L/C, even send me a contract.
But I tell them that I want 100% advance payment first and even before the sign the contract

Hi guys,
please help. I started negotiations with an Chinese company, which wants to import several goods from Europe.
The information, that I have about them is following:
- company - XI'AN DY CO., LTD
- website - www.xadeyism.com
- CEO - Mr. ZHANG XINWU.
- My contact person - Mr. Xinshun
Firs I saw that there is an mismatch between the company name in the signature and on the website:
- XI'AN DY CO., LTD
vs
- XI’AN DEYI TRADING CO., LTD
I'm not sure how and if I should proceed closing the deal.
PS: they said that it is mandatory to sign the contract in China and notarized it by the Notary Office of the Chinese Government.
Best Regards,
Koko Smoko

You should definitely not proceed to fly to China. But you should tell them that you are coming and play the same silly game with them.

Tom, thank you for your advise.
Unfortunately we have already sent them the signed contract.
Now they want to split the notary fee with us.
What should we do to protect our interests? If we proceed to play "the game", what is next?
Kind Regards,
Koko Smoko

I am so thankful that I found your posting. Thanks for posting it for us. We are a custom machining company in the USA and we received an RFQ from a company named Shan Xi Ou Kuo Imp&Exp Trade Co., Ltd. We sent them a quote, went back and forth in negotiations and this morning I received their "Purchase Agreement - Draft" this morning. I had been skeptical all along but could not understand where the scam would take place. They offered a contract valued at $2.7M USD and would pay 40% in advance by T/T. The other 60% by L/C. On my last email, I explained that we would be having a meeting today and sending the details to them after the meeting. It seemed strange that I received the purchase order this morning before I sent the details. I started looking into it further and that's when I found your post. They wanted us to visit them in China and the contract would have to be notarized.
This scam is still going on. Thanks again for saving us; we are in a different industry, however, the terms are still the same.

Luckily, it seemed to simple and too goof to me to get this kind of email from China without any explanation how did they got to me, why, without any other important detail, website link or a reel video. I cross checked the email and the body text and it immediately brought me here. Anyway, these scammers are not sleeping. Beware.
